TSI Publication Guidelines for Contributing Authors
Thank you for your interest in contributing to The Statecraft Institute (TSI). We welcome short commentaries[English/Hindi] of up to 800 words from writers who bring informed, original perspectives to contemporary issues.
How to Submit
To submit a piece, write to us at thestatecraft@rediffmail.com. Please use the subject line to indicate that you are sending a commentary along with its tentative title. Your email should also include a brief introduction about yourself and your area of expertise.
Our Policy on Artificial Intelligence
In order to preserve the authenticity, nuance, and originality we expect from our contributors, TSI does not permit the use of generative AI tools in the drafting or development of any article. All ideas, arguments, and citations must be entirely your own. The only permissible use of AI is for correcting grammar or spelling. If you do use AI for this limited purpose, whether during drafting or revision, you are required to disclose this to the editorial team.
Editorial Guidelines
- All references and sources should be embedded as hyperlinks directly within the body of the article.
- English Commentaries: Use Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Hindi Commentaries: Use Krutidev010, font size 14, with 1.5 line spacing.
- File Format: Submissions must be sent exclusively as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx files.
- Provide context, historical background, and factual grounding, while also offering analysis of current developments and a forward-looking perspective.
- The indicative length is 800 words. Exceptions may be considered in consultation with the Web Editor.
- This distinguishes TSI commentaries from standard newspaper op-eds.
Editorial Process
Every submission undergoes copy-editing and a plagiarism check before being cleared for publication by the Editor. By submitting to TSI, contributors confirm that the piece is being offered exclusively to us and that it will not be published simultaneously elsewhere in any form without our prior knowledge.
TSI is committed to keeping all contributors informed and maintaining full transparency at every stage of the publication process.
