Dr. Evelyn Bokler

Dr. Evelyn Bokler is Assistant Professor at the University of Bonn. She conducts research and publishes in the field of comparative studies of extremism, with a focus on Islamism in the MENA-region and in Germany. She is a Senior Fellow at the Bonn’s Centre for Advanced Studies on Security, Strategy and Integration (CASSIS) and co-editor of the Yearbook “Öffentliche Sicherheit” (public security) and the Quarterly “Weiterdenken”. Prior to this, she conducted research at the University of Münster on ‘resentment’ as a potential cause of radicalisation, and served as deputy director of the ‘Islam and Politics’ research centre at the Centre for Islamic Theology.
